Ball is life for OJ…because there’s nothing else for him at the shelter.
He was in and out of the shelter since 2024 through no fault of his own, repeatedly found stray with his dad Otto. Both dogs were officially surrendered and Otto was adopted in February. But OJ has been waiting since October 2024 for a home that he could call his forever.
He was adopted a couple times and returned because of his hip dysplasia, a common condition older German Shepherds. His condition is completely manageable and he loves to play and go on leisurely walks.
OJ would prefer to be the only pet in the household, though he is great about being non-reactive to other dogs when out on walks. He has also done well meeting kids, as well as having lived with kids in his original home.
He is our longest resident by far and should be spending his days in the comfort of a home rather than a shelter. If you love German Shepherds and understand what it takes to care for a big ol’ guy with weaker hips, please consider meeting OJ.
OJ is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $50 (waived for veterans).
