It is recommended to pull loose fronds and cut off those that are dead, damaged or diseased(These can be dangerous). Cut off fruit clusters that hang over sidewalks or walkways. Remove suckers or small palms that sprout at the base of the tree. Prune queen palm once or twice every year to improve the appearance of the tree. It's healthiest for the tree to leave all green fronds in place. Never cut off green fronds that point up or grow horizontally.
