Located at the Yolo County Animal Shelter in Woodland
Cheesy arrived at our shelter deeply traumatized. He was found stray in April with a heavy chain around his neck and a thick wire wrapped tightly around his muzzle. His spirit was already damaged and began to break down completely in the stress of the shelter environment.
A devoted volunteer began working with him regularly to get him the training, structure, and decompression he needed to learn how to exist in this world. Cheesy learned so many new commands and tricks. He’s now potty trained and crate trained. He ADORES women but needs a few extra treats to warm up to men.
He would do best as the only pet with someone special who is willing to continue with his training. He is so full of potential — he’s made so much progress with our volunteer, we can only imagine the exponential growth he could have in a forever home ??
From trauma to triumph, Cheesy has proven his resilience and willingness to trust. He is now ready for adoption and would love to meet you.
